Spaghetti with seafood

Spaghetti with seafood
4 servings

Ingredients
500 grams of spaghetti
2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of butter
2 onions, minced
850 grams of tomatoes, peeled, seedless & minced (fresh or canned)
2 tablespoons of fresh basil leaves
or 1 teaspoon of dry basil
¼ cup (60 ml) of dry white wine
12 clams, well washed and scrubbed
125 grams of fish fillets, diced
12 raw shrimp, pealed and gutted
125 grams of squid rings

Preparation

  1. Cook the pasta ‘al dente’ in plenty of boiling water with salt. Drain & keep hot.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a frying pan at medium heat. Sauté the onions until golden.
  3. Add the tomato, basil and wine. Lower the heat and let it boil for 8 minutes. Add the clean clams, the fish and shrimp; and cook for 5 more minutes.
  4. Add the squid and cook for 1 minute or until ll the seafood is cooked. Cover the pasta with the mix and serve right away.

Note
This is another traditionally favorite dish, where seafood & fish can be used at your preference. The tomato sauce can be made in advance and kept frozen. While the pasta cooks, unfreeze and heat the sauce and add the seafood like the recipe explains.
