Something special

Something special salmonpiz-main
Pasta is perfect when uninvited guests come, while pizzas are ideal for feeding a crowd. This collection of recipes with exotic ingredients shows just how good these dishes are to share with guests.

All you need to complete the menu is a fresh lettuce salad or a variety of salads and different kinds of breads, if it’s a big gathering.

Smoked salmon pizza
10 servings
1 amount for basic pizza dough (see basic pizza dough)
1-2 tablespoons of olive oil
200 grams of sliced smoked salmon
freshly ground black pepper
4-6 tablespoons of sour cream
4 teaspoons of salmon caviar (optional)
2 table spoons of fresh lemon thyme, minced

Preparation

  1. Prepare the pizza as explained in the recipe. Divide in four portions and make four disks of about 15 cm diameters. Place on a greased pan. Spread oil on them and bake for 15 minutes or until they turn golden.
  2. Lower the oven temperature to 180C. Place the smoke salmon on the pizzas, season with pepper and bake for 8-10 minutes to heat up the salmon.
  3. Immediately before serving, add the sour cream and caviar (optional) and sprinkle the lemon thyme.

Note
Oven temperature 200C
If you can find lemon thyme use ½ a teaspoon of dry thyme and ½ a teaspoon of finely grated lemon peel. First put the thyme on the base of the pizzas and then when you take them out of the oven add the grated lemon peels just before serving.
