How to cook pasta
Cook the pasta in a pot with plenty of water: generally using 4 cups (1 liter) of water for every 100 grams of pasta. Once the water boils, add some salt (in Italy its normally 1 tablespoon for every 100 grams) and add the pasta. If you wish add a little oil and mix.
Once the water is boiling again, start the timer. The pasta will be ready when you taste it ‘al dente’, better said, cooked but a bit chewy. Take the pasta out and drain in a large colander.

You’ll notice the amount of pasta mentioned is fairly generous. I most cases all you’ll need to do to make it a complete meal is add a vegetable salad and some French bread.
