Bolognese Spaghetti
6 servings

Ingredients
500 grams of spaghetti
grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Bolognese sauce
2 table spoons of vegetable oil
1 mashed clove of garlic
1 onion, minced
500 grams of ground beef
450 grams (1 can) of tomato puree
¼ cup (60 ml) of red wine or water
1 tablespoon of fresh oregano
or ½ teaspoon of dry oregano
1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, minced
or ½ teaspoon of dry thyme
freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. Sauce: Heat he oil in a frying pan at medium heat and sauté the garlic and onions for 3 minutes or until the onions soften.
  2. Add the meat and cook for 5-7 minutes or until it loses its color. Add the tomato puree, wine or water, oregano & thyme. Lower the heat and leave boiling slightly for 15-20 minutes or until the sauce decreases and thickens. Season with the black pepper.
  3. Cook the pasta ‘al dente’ in plenty of boiling water with salt. Drain well. Serve the pasta hot covered with the sauce and parmesan cheese if you use it.
